SK hynix Reshuffles Its Presidents and Names a Head of the Americas
Oct 2026 · 5 min
SK hynix moved its development chief to lead US operations, gave its research head development, and kept CEO Kwak Noh-jung after a record quarter.
Short answer: On October 30, 2026, SK hynix reshuffled its senior presidents, effective November 1 (Seoul Economic Daily). Ahn Hyun, president in charge of development, becomes head of the Americas. Cha Seon-yong, head of the Future Technology Research Institute, takes over development while keeping the research role. Yoon Poong-young becomes president and head of the Corporate Center. CEO Kwak Noh-jung stays, with a term running to the March 2028 shareholders' meeting.
SK hynix wants the US to be a hub that links research, production and customer work, not only a sales market. Putting its development chief in charge of the Americas puts a senior technologist next to customers such as Nvidia as it expands custom high-bandwidth memory (HBM). The company broke ground in August on an HBM packaging plant in Indiana.
The changes follow a record quarter. On October 28, SK hynix reported third-quarter revenue of 104.6 trillion won, its first quarter above 100 trillion won, and operating profit of 83.3 trillion won.
