Short answer: On October 29, 2026, STMicroelectronics announced a new organization that takes effect on January 1, 2027 (STMicroelectronics). President Remi El-Ouazzane becomes Chief Technology Officer and also takes over the imaging sensors business. President Marco Cassis becomes Chief Strategic Officer and adds research and development for analog, power, discrete and MEMS technologies.
President and CEO Jean-Marc Chery said the CTO and CSO responsibilities are "strongly interdependent." Implementation is due by the end of March 2027, and ST will adjust its reportable segments from January 1, 2027.
ST is giving product line presidents direct ownership of the technology roadmaps behind their products. The change ties R&D, strategy and acquisitions more closely to the businesses that sell the chips.
